Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) Nicholas Hooper The Best Soundtrack Of 2009, hands down!! A very easy and obvious choice, of course! Not only would all Potter fans agree to that statement/selection, but also anyone else with appreciation for music of such amazing composition, that the world has been truly blessed by. Throughout this incredible score, the tone switches from light, warm and whimsical, to dark, dangerous and deeply mournful, transitioning into each new emotion beautifully. Though the brilliant creator, Nicholas Hooper, has stepped down after it's completion, saying that has was too exhausted to carry on with the films, there is never even the slightest hint of stain in his masterpiece. Exquisite, powerful, intense and magical, just as much so as the movies themselves, this music is captivating, and will leave you feeling a little numb, melancholy and questioning of the mundane Muggle world (what is the point of it, really?) after listening to it all striate through. 5 stars, for sure! ***** | ![]() |
